Moleben is a service conducted by a priest asking our Saviour, Mother of God for assistance in a specific matter (for example illness, travel, family, employment, education and so on). This prayer is usually conducted on behalf of the Living Orthodox Christians.
Panikhida is a prayer service offered by a priest for the repose of the soul of an Orthodox Christian who has departed this life. Only departed Orthodox Christians may be commemorated at a Panikhida.
